Someone built that place, there's probably a goth loli inside, you gotta check it out! :pepela:

Well the whole dungeon is suggested to be artificially created , or somehow made by the collective unconsciousness.
Because of all the pop culture references that are everywhere.
That said, a god can usually take any form they want... so why not take the form of a goth loli ? :dogkek:

While reading, I sure didn't imagine a gothic castle within that cave. That's a weird take, if it wasn't explicitly written, and I just missed it.
I had the same thought, so I returned to the book and checked. It is described as gothic in the LN.

“If you looked closely, architectural elements from all of human history had been mixed together, but overall, the room possessed something close to a Gothic style.”
“Though the outside decorations appeared Gothic, the interior made heavy use of columns, which gave off a Greek or Egyptian air.”

Even the official novel translation keeps the jojo's reference of giving up humanity when absorbing a skill orb, why does this does not?
They say it exactly like this in the LN, because they're worried about how many orbs they've used at this point.

“Seeming convinced, Miyoshi nodded and raised the orb high overhead. “Sooner or later, I really am going to reject my humanity!” she cried while using the orb.”

Whenever they say they won't do it, I just immediately assume they do it anyway. It's been a thing that's repeating that I just want the story to dress it better. Like this one where there is little to no options explored on that cliff. They have a camper van in their pockets and swimming in money, they didn't think to test that? They're just going to the mountain now.

The wording of it here is a bit poor, but I believe the reason he is having her use the orb is that he is so powerful that things that would be considered a danger to her may not be considered dangerous to him.

Maybe? (and spoiler, because there are LN references ahead)
1) There was an ultimate creator; they were not of this dimension
2) During the initial incursion, the entity scanned the minds of those it found present; one of those is basically now a "Captain Black" as spokesperson for the entity
3) "Captain Black" is master of the Wandering Manor; it represents a real world location, and they wrote "the book of wanderers"... partially in klingon.
4) The dungeon isn't necessarily well defined in advance - for example, it is possible the 10th layer (with the zombies) exists because one of the early explorers thought finding a layer like that would be "cool" - the observer and the observed combining to define reality. Although it is possible our "Captain Scarlett" protag has admin rights due to the "mei king" orb.

Wow as a Kenyan this the first time a manga has gotten any Kenyan connected lore correctly .
LN specifically lists a book the author used as a reference (they seem good at doing that)
Oral Literature of the Maasai by Naomi Kipuri

Probably the lore is from there?
[Update] - I (cough) acquired the book; it has the legend mentioned in the LN, and has the interesting observation (sorta mentioned in the LN?) that the "wife" has the OL- (masculine) prefix, while the god has the EN (feminine) prefix... so possibly role reversal rather than BL?
