Going to have to go back and read the series from the start again because, reading this chapter with multiple callbacks, I don't remember any of these girls... Thanks for the effort with the translating.

he is op, knows he is op and that he could kill the demon king
in this world there are heroes who get marks on them to prove it, those people get a power boost and a role to go kill the demon kings

he trained so that he might get one of the marks to become a hero, kill a demon lord, marry a princess and live a lazy life of luxury but in a random town he overheard that kings had a shit ton of work so he started to live in a way to barely make ends meet while hiding his power so he wasn't forced to work (all of this in the first chapter)
The manga skips over it, but ch.20 of the WN talks about it. Demon kings show up like the heroes do, they get marking that give them power and the title. Difference is that they are supposed fight each other to the death, until one remains; which is also part of the reason Luna was hiding, she wants a peaceful life. The one left become the true demon king and a signal is sent to tell the heroes that the demon king has arrived. That's when the heroes are sent to fight.

"I can't afford to lose (because I'm literally broke)."
He's only broke in the same sense a billionaire in RL could be "broke" by not having much cash. Because cash is just money lying around, not producing anything. In fact it's diminishing due to inflation. So, a billionaire could have billions in stocks, gold, art, property, etc, but not actually have enough money to buy a car, without either getting a loan (he probably has a few already) or by liquidating some of his possessions. The MC here has an unknown amount of magical treasures he doesn't use, not to mention he also has superb skills he could sell immediately for a lot of money. But he doesn't want to. So, he's pretending to be broke. Just like a millionaire can pretend to have very little income, by careful arrangements and tax planning, and thus won't pay income tax.
