Yeah, this story has a lot of issues. For one, we are lacking a significant amount of world building and background information to help explain the present circumstances. We kind of get a summarized version to an extent, but there is not enough detail, and it only seems to tell half the story.
Secondly, we have a "villian" (the king) who is "evil" for the sole purpose of giving the story a "bad guy" character, even if it is blatantly forced. No one thinks how he thinks. It is beyond delusional to the point of being obviously forced. It doesn't fit at all. The guy gets a first hand experience showing exactly why his family lacks spirit powers, and immediately goes "I get why you hate us, we did horrible things to you, I would have done the same as you guys did, but even so, im gonna need you to let me get a bit of those powers, I need them". Only sociopathic narcissists think that way. The king isn't one, since he clearly emphasized with the spirits.
His children are semi-idiots too.they know what happened, what caused it, and the outcome. But insist on recreating the same exact scenario, just with a slightly different dialogue. They mean well, but lack almost all common sense. Good on them for wanting to apologize though, at least they are not complete fuckups.
Biggest thing is, isnt she a reincarnated scientist? With a mature mental age? Capable of rationalizing and problem solving? Or was that experience so disturbing it caused her to mentality regress?
But even still, why does no one even try to explain anything to the other side? This entire thing could be solved if they just said what was needed to correct any misunderstandings. Clearly the royal family didi nit knkw why they were disliked, and assumed it was a pointless reason. If Origin would have explained it to them, it may have turned out differently. Humans do not live as long as she does, so known information and common knowledge changing is almost guaranteed to happen.
Also, what the fuck do you mean they never intended to curse them? How the fuck do you accidentally curse a bloodline, something you more or less seem to think was going too far, and then just say fuck it, let'em be cursed because you cant be bothered to try and help your own people who are suffering. And furthermore, continue to hold the humans responsible who are innocent because you cant be bothered to do something about it, but are more than willing to let you own daughter handle it. Some fucking goddess. Take some personal responsibility for your side's fuckup.
This story is basically 2 groups, the spirits and royal family, who at one time 200 years ago, had an incident. Where the royal family did a very horrible thing to the spirits. Then in retaliation, the spirits haunted the king until his death. But the spirits fucked it up, and somehow accidentally curesed the entire bloodline. But because they held all the power, they just denied their own mistake and just left it unresolved. Now 200 years later, the royal family still is suffering from a curse which no longer has jack shit to do with any of them. The spirit goddess agrees with them that the curse was a bit much for a punishment, but still wont bother fixing it, for some dumb reason. Now her daughter, who got a feel for the curse first hand, is forced to fix her mothers error by herself because "Mommy can't be bothered if it doesn't involve your father's dick".
I seriously cant decide which side is the real asshole (the present day goddess or the present day royal family, not the king from 200 years ago who clearly was the asshole at that time). One is punishing the other without saying why they are doing so. One is demanding cooperation from the other without even trying to understand why they do not want to.
