While she certainly could've phrased it better, it's important to keep in mind that from Karin's PoV, Riona essentially fell in love with a chatbot. It's still unclear whether Forti has any real sentience, and if she doesn't, Riona's (and her father's) relationship with Forti truly is unhealthy -- while if she does, they're basically enslaving her. Not great either way.

That's the question the series is asking, though. Riona feels extremely uncomfortable with the idea of robots doing things just because they are programmed to do so. Society, even her father, is telling her that robots are things to be used, but for Riona Forti isn't a thing, she's someone she cares about.

Imagine how Riona feels about what her father does with Forti. Riona knows Forti only does it because she's told/programmed to, not because she actually wants to be used as a cumdumpster.

Karin might be somewhat dumb, but so are most 14yo. It's pretty normal for children of her age to react like that.
And in this case Karin is just being honest. She doesn't wish to harm or insult - instead she's just being happy that her friend realized that what she did wasn't normal.

Also, what Riona did in eyes of others might've looked like "playing" with a glorified "vacuum cleaner with built-in ChatGPT" (thinking about it ...sounds like a startup plan)

She doesnt have our pov, she just doesnt share Riona's mindset and honestly neither we do if you actually think about it, someone already pointed out the chatgpt example so i guess that what karin did was a bit hard on riona but without harmful intentions

Wow I re-read the chapter twice and I'm really disliking Karin more and more, yes she's a high school girl but she acts so insensitive towards Riona, and the whole panel "That's right, you understand! Thank goodness!" Comes off as "You realize you're fucked up, that's great!"
Not to mention this bizarre girls kissing girls but any feelings beyond that are unacceptable and you get ostracized by your "friend" group and Karin going ahead and making Riona the class pariah.
