While I agree with the "kids being stupid" principle, I can't really excuse Karin. All her bullshit is rooted on Riona's sexuality. All her issues started when Riona started taking their relationship seriously. It has nothing to do with robots, Karin is just scared Riona isn't playing pretend anymore for whatever reason.

So first Karin ruins Riona's reputation, then she feels bad about it and sort of tries to make up even though Riona clearly doesn't really want to be around her, then she spies on Riona and calls her a freak, but at the same time is jealous? My goodness.
And poor Riona too doesn't know what to do about her feelings for Forti since she can see that they aren't necessarily real.

you have to remember that these are middle schoolers. literally children. Karin’s fear isn’t “for whatever reason”. she’s just hit puberty and all these changes are new to her, including their sexualities. the way she’s handled this situation isn’t ideal but it’s logical for someone in her position.
