...we saw her older brother alive and reigning in the useless little brother a few chapters back.

If anything,bit might've been some troubles with her art during her HS years.


Also, nice to finally see the reason her eyes are like that. It felt weird to see her always having fully black eyes when most other characters do have noticeable pupils, but if the point is her actual inner sadness being expressed through that detail, it kinda tracks more easily in my mind.

Given the content of her hentai I don't think this character revelation is all that surprising - that there's some real angst deep down in there. It also explains her apparent laziness, at least in part. She's lazy because she's a perfectionist and only wants to work when she feels motivated and will be happy with the product - that's what I got out of the torn up painting. Though maybe I'm just projecting a little.

Love this manga for its fluff, but also surprisingly down for this tone shift provided it doesn't last too long. It's the kind of back story that can make the fluff fluffier. That being said, come back soon Yoe sensei...

Honestly, I'm just suprised the highlight is genetic
