My take on the chapter, why are they so scared of a mere paper wasp, allergies notwithstanding? I usually move any stray or bees or wasps indoors on my finger to the outside. They're pretty much harmless unless one aggravates them. And paper wasps, well, you have to really make an effort to make those ones angry...

Because even if they don't usually attack people, bees and other things can hurt you so some people don't like taking that chance.
