I forget if it was explained, so the aliens are able to make a mirror version of Tokyo which is why there wasn’t any damage in the end? 😵‍💫😵‍💫

Every time they fight something alien, it somehow creates "closed space" where things only exist for the period of the fight, which is why they were panicked when it was starting to fade out.

The mirror dimension is Reiko's thing where she imprisons people in her mirror and here she used it to smash all the aliens.

The setup for this arc is insane. I prefer this over the MC shouting until you get a power-up.

The author even pulls off power scaling to such a nuanced degree that its hardly perceivable until you recall that this is a shounen story. I'm super impressed.

Few stories can make me feel such sadness in just a few panels.

We go from a kuchisake-onna obliterating an entire alien fleet... to her memories of a happier past, before the evilness of humanity reached a new peak, and then... she just leaves, because two kids showed a love that she didn't forget but she doesn't have anymore.

This series is special.

About how she could win so easily... I am inclined to believe that the "Empty Space" the aliens have to enter somehow serves as an amplifier for ghosts, Reiko is already a high-level ghost, so her power becomes even greater inside it, I say that because... this feat of imprisoning an ENTIRE ALIEN FLEET inside a mirror space is not small, and if she can do that easily on "Real Space"... this kinda breaks the power dynamics.

But I do think is because of "Empty Space" she could do that, which would easily explain Okarun's theory that the fact aliens don't invade Earth en masse is because of the ghosts, whatever is the "system" that forces aliens inside that parallel space works best for the ghost and they can't break the system easily.

This was a shockingly satisfying end. Deus Ex Machina as all hell but just really resonates with me. Scary ultimate demon completely moved by a girl having a boy who liked her, motivated to destroy aliens because it brought back how she likely died during WWII. Solid 10.

I've said it before since the few previous chapters: Stay the fuck away from our home, fucking invaders.

God I love this Manga. Proper power scale, where characters are still getting stronger but not strong enough.

A shout out to the fact its the Yokai who still keep the earth safe from aliens, even if they're a little wild doing so.

To be fair though, it's a Deus ex machina that's setup by the author. We know the Yokai defend earth from aliens, we know this lady comes out at a certain time. We all just forgot.

Its more satisfying because its not just a "some God comes out of nowhere and saves them"

100% on this. Super frustrating to have lived through the arc being delivered piecemeal, but on the whole I think it will read extremely well once it's all laid out in order. I would occasionally remember that this lady was a plotline that seemed to have been completely abandoned, but to see it looped back in at just the right time? Trope-y yes, but equally as satisfying :chad:

...or would be if MangaPlus would cough let us read more than the last three weeks :fml:
