Honestly I can’t see a way for the author to dedicate plot time in the 18+ version because it would create a split between what the readers have to keep up with. The author is barely staying afloat with the workload as it is, so I can’t imagine having to juggle even more work. Then you have plot being revealed that the normal version readers don’t get because they don’t pay for it. Plus, by nature of it being 18+ it will have less ways for it to get exposure on social media compared to the “tame” version. So I get what you mean, but it’s just not viable for an indie manga.

When the author burns out and quits, someone can pick this up and chose a point in the dense Sou timeline where he realizes the truth, and it turns into the true ending where sou is caring and horny. Repressing his wild desires while still absolutely satisfying the needs of the women off-camera. That new author could even do canonical R-18 optional panels for the off-camera sex scenes.

It would be so much better. The R-18 parts would be a spice for the main dish, rather than a competing timeline.
