It's an even cutesier version of the cutesy "-tan" honorific, which is a childish way of saying the more typical affectionate/diminutive "-chan" honorific. It comes from the fact that the katakana for "so" and "n" look very similar (ソ versus ン).

As far as I know "-taso" is something that got derived from "-tan" which itself then comes from -san (さん)
It's childish/cutesy and normally you'd write "tan" as "-たん" (i.e. in Hiragana).
But you could use Katakana, then it would be become "-タン"
With Katakana n (ン) and so (ソ) looking pretty similar being the root, so that's where this comes from.
You could say it's an over-exaggerated cutesy way to express Sou's affection and respect for Hana here.

And he calls her that because he erronously thinks she started the hug fest to help him getting closer to the girls.
In that way it's extreme.
