Well... I did. What can I say - just let my post from before sink in again:I was expecting Ruri to be broken but not like this...
pretty much nailed it for Ruri's background, I guess. Not sure about her brothers age, but he's likely not too young and that makes me wonder how he treats his sister. Maybe no too nice (think about Original Sou and his sisters... and Akane tried to even it out. But here? Probably actually neglegence). As for Mairu in that scenario, well... he's is still a blackbox but for him I have my own theory. Though I won't share it yet, I need to see a bit more of him to iron it out.My pet theory for Ruri is that she could be one of the few girls in school who actually have a (younger) brother at home and it's that experience with him which made Ruri into a man-eating snake. If her brother is near her age and every bit of familial love got directed at him whereas Ruri herself is somehow negleted at home? We have to remember one thing - we only ever saw Sou's family and Akane actually loves her daughters just as much. She treats them all equally and fairly... But that's not how it normally goes for families with a boy. Usually mothers are spoiling their sons rotten and turn them into little tyrants. If Ruri experienced that from a girl's perspective then it could explain a lot about her character and why Mairu is a non-issue for her - he simply submits and folds instantly and Ruri can boss him around all she wants.
Nah, what Ruri needs is someone who actually pays attention to and really cherishes her. Someone who sees all the effort she put in so far, praises her and shows her that not all guys are assholes or every family is like hers. Well, the latter she already got shown. The author will probably waste an excellent opportunity here that would allow Ruri's heart to heal but not through Sou... I wish he'd only play the middleman here, but I guess that won't happen. The biggest problem is that he already let Ruri see there are good (unusual) families. I would have preferred if it wasn't Sou who actually heals her but expect that the next step will be Sou and Ruri actually meeting for real - the first time wouldn't count meeting. I guess the author will make Sou thank Ruri for her help in suggesting the class observation and sing her praises. Let's see what that will do.We need Ruri to be dazzled by Sou, so that she can get some happiness.
