Sadly, this kind of asshole is quite common. It seems MLs and Capture Targets have this nasty, self righteous sense of "justice" that completely denies the possibility someone might have changed for the better, even in the face of overwhelming evidence.

It's most painful when they are, in fact, the ML, because you just know it's going to be miserable until it gets cleared up, or something horrible happens because of their assumptions.

And sometimes, you end up with stories where you don't want the ML to be the ML, because they're toxic trash who not only do that in spite of horrible things happening to the FL, they do it multiple times with non-apologies, somehow get forgiven, and end up in a happy ending they don't deserve.

Idk if we’re describing the same character haha. This sounds like a “I’m making an analogy to ‘cancel culture’”. I mean liiiikkee.. SJW as an insult/or with negatively connotations is soooooo 2014.

Gotta remember that before this, her attitude and bullying was very obvious to others and overtly harmful. His impulsiveness is frustrating, but not without due intervention. However, I agree he should’ve done real research, or at least read the room he enters before attacking people.
