All things considered I think Shiori is old money.
She owns the apartment building they live in iirc. But her net worth seems way more, so I'm guessing her family owns a corporation and she's probably profiting off of equity or is in a position which requires minimal actual involvement.

EDIT: would also explain her reluctance to share her full name with Minoru. One Google search and he'll know exactly who she is.
