If Agawa complains for this, it will be hilarious because she brought this result herself by hooking Gotou with other girls previously, the rejection from earlier chapters is one thing since you can't force that, but putting our boy on a waitlist and cockjumping from one to the other while our boy was studying like crazy... can't complain about his actual behaviour.

Gotou is trying to manipulate Agawa into wanting him. As such he's putting further distance between her and him in order to get her desperate for him. If he just let her join in then she'd think he's "easy" and thus "mistreat" him (at least that's what I think is going through his mind).

This character arc for Gotou has been building up for a while. He first started off as meek and mild. He fell in love with Agawa and wanted a serious relationship but failed due to his lust. He wanted to be JUST Agawa's fuckbuddy as he probably thought it would then develop into more serious feelings but again he fell to his lust. Then later on he failed his class tests due to his lust which made Agawa distance herself from him (probably because she blames herself for what happened and to help him recover). Gotou manages to study hard and finally overcome his lust but then he is rewarded with the knowledge that someone who is just as horny as he is made advances on his "pure" friend. At this point he snaps and takes revenge in the most lustful way possible. This results in his first "win" in the manga.

What has happened so far is everytime Gotou struggled against his lust, he has failed to meet his goals. He has only achieved success when he gave in. So now he's gone full horndog as a means of coping with this fact.

Crazy, crazy chapter. I know some people expected Gotou and Agawa to fucking each other brains out this chapter but instead it's Gotou having a threesome with the president and Akito, out of all people. Man, Gotou sounds so delusional, and his comical evil expression doesn't help either. No wonder Gotou is a complete alien to Agawa now.

I'm not sure if the author can land this, but at least I'm more interested than I was a while back. I would still prefer a little bit more wholesome route, but maybe it was never in the cards to begin with. For now, we are heading for the iceberg called misery and regret.
