Possibly a matter of optimization rather than author preference. It takes a lot to shock manga readers of the JJK/CSM/Jigokuraku era. Crimes tend to generate stronger reactions if the victim is female (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Missing_white_woman_syndrome).

the blacksmith's corpse being sliced up and their heart on the ground is so weird. i wonder if there's some hidden secret going there or if the raiders just felt like ripping someone's heart out for fun. the fact that the samurai ghost can rip a heart out feels like theres a connection between whatever happened at his village.
then again it might be a theory and the heart is just there for shock factor

For the position she got r4p3ddd and got her heart out while she was defiled. The heart, just with that on the page, can mean it was part of the ritual used for the soldiers to leave their humanity behind

I hate and love how gruesome and dark this manga goes, I might be wrong but the woman besides having her heart cut out and being burned, something else might have happened cuz it looks like she is naked beyond her outerwear and the position isn't helping. And it's been shown that this manga has no problems going there.

During war, that is used to make the soldiers to abandon their humanity

This manga has showed many parts of the worst of the human being before

It cannot be Musashi because he wasn't born during warring period, it also very unlikely to be Tadakatsu because he was born slightly before warring period ended.

Really interesting chapter. I always wondered why the strongest graduates didn’t attack Yayoi more and tried to get release, specially when she’s alone and without a second graduate with her to attack the first graduate.

It would be fun to see this or other graduate becoming a rebel.

While this was a very decent showing for this graduate. I think one should keep in mind this guy and all the others Yayoi has used in the story so far. Very likely are less of a dangerous threat than the one graduate she has not used in the story thus far and likely will never use. Graduate Zero
