For a manga to have such good art, to be wasted on this trash heap, is pretty sad. The technical side of things aside, the drama is absolute shit. This is on the level of soap operas. Seriously, when you create a scenario that is so bad it pissed off the fanbase to the point of sending death threats to the staff involved, you know you fucked up and should quit with the theatrics.
Wow there's a lot of haters here...Who fucking cares about whether or not the artist's skill is wasted, To Love Ru is just blue balls the manga anyways so who cares.
So I know its deviating from the anime a bit so we will hopefully get a happier end with Hir02. I can dream. Due to the what if route do you guys think they'll still include all the remembering each other parts that Hir02 goes through at some point and will they still get together?
I don't get why everyone thinks the anime is trash. Yeah, that last arc was a shitshow, but it doesn't make the first 2/3 of the series bad by any means. Yeah, I think the show peaked at episode 15, and I think the ending is fine, although the whole VIRM thing is ridiculous. In the end, it's a good show that could've been great, but didn't.
People saying Yabuki Kentaro is wasted on this and should do TLR 3 instead needs to remember that he only illustrates TLR.
That episode 14 that Zero Two shippers hate? I think that Ichigo is perfectly within her character to do something like that, and there is nothing wrong with being selfish in that way. Keep in mind that they are kids as well, so you can't expect them to be able to make decisions the way adults do. Besides, there will always be haters. If you don't like it, don't watch / read it. Let other people who enjoy it enjoy it.
Let's say they don't deviate from the anime. I just hope that last arc is explored more, instead of it feeling rushed, and hopefully get rid of that
giant Zero Two Sterlizia monstrosity
. I think that
Hiro and Zero Two sacrificing themselves
is a nice way to end the show, although I do wish for
a happier ending where they survive and return.
Anyway, damn, they really do deviate quite a lot. Even the first sortie was different.
The issue with the anime is that it abandoned the theme of maturation and human relationship/emotional complexity after episode 15 in favor of heavy handed exposition and attempting to create some interesting plot afterward. It would be like if Gurren Lagann spent the last few episodes just doing nothing but explaining the anti spirals instead of pushing the theme of humanity's inherent goodness and ability to persevere and better themselves. If the manga wants to be better than the anime, they need to focus on the kids transforming into adults physically and mentally, and rebelling against their "parents." none of this shit about who klaxosaurs really are and the secret evil organization.
@Akemua Lost Pause did a video to explain that he found no proof online that there was anyone who actually sent death threats and concluded that the whole thing was just a baseless rumour.
@Nick86 Wait the manga won't end up trash like the ending of the anime? Should I read this expecting a better ending?
@soundlinked The anime did not peak at ep 15, it went severely downhill after ep 18. Everything before that was almost a masterpiece but that ending ruined it.
Much better story for now. I loved the anime but this manga is much better...there were good things in the anime that are missing in the manga, but I think and I'm sure that will be for the better
