I would judge this manga so harshly if I could read it without an erection. Right now, it’s a 10/10 for me

Why can't this have the "erotica" tag? 💀 wasted potential

Its not that rare these days, in fact id sag its common in 2020 era manga. Maybe its the spirit of Abe trying to revive the birthrate, but a lot of the ones im reading now, ranging from this one to "my boss is scary" to "my divorced crybaby neighbor" involve an adult, reasonably well put together man making friends with a similarly mature woman, either a neighbor or coworker, deepening their relationship, and then boning for fanbox content before the first quarter or third of the series is through.
I feel like since digital drawing has a lower barrier to entry than analog, which that means that anyone can become a manga writer these days instead of the most devoted to learning the craft, and therefore there's a larger influx of romance writers who've actually experienced romance in the real world into the space

Damn, every time, I'm surprised by how big she is. She's basically SheHulk.
Thanks for the chapter :salute: :win:

I still think this is moving a bit too fast. Don't get me wrong, I love getting to the good part in romcoms and they don't drag things further than they need to, but still, this is moving a little too fast and she's practically throwing herself at him too easily. Hell, in next chapter they sleep in the same futon hugging each other, intertwined legs and all Who tf does that to someone they met a few days and they haven't explicitly declared their feelings to them? We all wish women were this forward, but cmon
I agree with this. At the same time, while it does fit the title she has been given somewhat, what I don’t understand is why her first friend seemingly bailed.

While yes, this is clearly not a lot of space, it’s not done in a very overbearing way. Like maybe if she kept pushing everything, kept being paranoid or things in that nature, I’d understand. But she really is just a friend acting more like a significant other which just makes everything seem like it’s going fast, rather than her being overbearing. I couldn’t imagine dropping someone over this unless the behavior got so much worse.

As someone learning digital art right now, I gotta say this ain't it chief.

Regarding the barrier to entry: It's more like how it is for gaming, except Japan is ahead of the curve. Unlike the west, they realized they don't need well thought out scripts, worlds, characters, etc. because people will consume anything. And with the last two generations having a lot of unmet needs, it's become even easier to sell simple stories that speak to pain points through wish-fulfillment.

TBH, that's kind of happening to the whole world now through online algorithms.

You're right about the larger influx of people though. Publishers making connections have gotten 100x easier and there are more avenues to learn creative skills than ever before (that doesn't mean the skill difficulty changed).

IIRC those are not japanese manga. typically Japanese manga are notorious for not doing what the user wrote:
Pardon my ignorance but how are those not Japanese manga? The ones I mentioned, the authors of both are Japanese, they were translated from Japanese, etc. I was making the point that those at least bucked the trend you describe in other manga, and I hope it's the start of a sea change in that trend ;o

Sorry, you're right. They are literally Japanese. I meant that they aren't going through the standard Japanese manga pipeline with official publishers, editors, magazines, organizational advertising etc. The ones that are mostly self-produced like the one you listed are wild cards, and don't really have a standard to follow.

Well... that's what I typically think of when I hear Japanese manga. Kinda like when people say comics and recall spider-man, marvel, DC, etc. Though, these days a lot more are entering that same pipeline from standalone webcomics.

BTW, is "My Boss is Scary" short for "A Scary Boss, But From Now on She's Going to Be Happier and Happier"? I kept searching for it, and that long title kept coming up.
