Yes & yes. Despite being NPCs from a game, they seem to remember it like a real world that they were real people in. It's uncertain how aware they are of being from a game, but they all have a sense of their god (AKA the man who programmed them AKA the MC) being inside the Maou/Chief they serve, and that "the Chief" is acting differently than before they came to this world (AKA back in the game world).

As for the MC remembering these details, he's the developer of that game who poured his heart & soul into the game as a labor of love, so of course he remembers all the details he gave their backgrounds.

In this story the Madam Butterfly's faction are the socialites/bourgeois. Basically the rich/aristocrat faction. The Militants hate them for their wasteful decadent lifestyle while the Militants beggars themselves to protect Holy Light. There are actually socialist in this story too and they are the satanist faction. The factions was explained on the earlier chapters.

Will look into that, but even in the LN it is mentioned Socialists Faction.
