I agree because an own goal is supposed to have a negative effect to oneself and the context doesn’t seem to imply this.
I haven’t check the raws, but if the author/artist used this term this way, they may have misunderstood the meaning of the phrase. If so, it would be quite confusing in any language.
That guys name under that text bubble is Own Goal. Or at least that what the DL keep calling him.

When did the bunny people leave the village? I don't recall it happening, but maybe I'm just getting old lol.
When the village was attacked, way before Maou came and took over the village iirc.
Its both a real world term and the joke The Demon Lord makes when he is mispronouncing the former bandit O Wungol's name.
Ohh, I didn't know that. (Tbh I didn't even know that the bandit's name was O Wungol) Tho I feel that the same that the line will sound more complicated if I change it.

Page 25: "For the alliance between the militants and the socialists". I'm sure the latter is supposed to be socialites instead of socialists. You can see the representatives around the saintess there. The former, I'm not so sure, but wasn't that guy part of the actual military? Wouldn't really call a formal military person a militant.
You're right. I completely forgot. I'll make the changes soon.
The other guy is part of the Military Faction, and Militant is a person who prefers violent actions.

Then Should I change It?
Though I have no clue what to put in place of the, "Oh, a double self-goal!" line.
"Oh, a (double/another) Own-goal!" just sounds wrong. Any better Ideas?

Yeah, but when reading the line, "own goal" didn't sound right.

Actually there's no deeper context in that panel.
As VesperPie said, this was just a play on his name.
His name is O Wungol. But MC simply made fun of him by calling him "own goal".
He appeared back in the prequel, v1 ch2.

Also, I guess the manga skipped it. But if you watch the anime ep 2, MC actually said that this guy really looks like his manager Shenmu Aoki.
In this chapter, he was recalling something this Aoki person said.
And then he got reminded of O Wungol because how similar they are.
He was like "hmm, if I recall there was that own goal guy. He really looks similar (to Aoki)"
And in the background, the bandit was like "my name is O Wungol!!!"

Also "own goal" is the actual official term in footbal/soccer. You can google it.
There's Euro cup going on right now, and there was an own goal that happened in one of the matches. When they listed the goals, they put "name-of-the-player (OG)".
It's supposed to be a shameful thing. That's why it's the joke nickname for O Wungol.

Its both a real world term and the joke The Demon Lord makes when he is mispronouncing the former bandit O Wungol's name.

I think that line refers to two Aoki looking person, Aoki and Own goal, thus double own goal.
And a double own goal has happened before.https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...over-from-double-own-goal-horror-says-rodgers

And just for context, I think the situation DL is referring to that reminds him of Aoki saying something about first class, is that despite O wungal being a former bandit he takes pride as a well digger and will not accept doing shoddy work. It speaks about their professionalism. Which goes back to the Demon Lord being called a Fallen Angel and not a Holy Angel like Thrones, but since the people still think of him as an Angel they expect the typical angel work/miracle from him.

Thanks @zerio and @VesperPie for clarifying that it’s the character name. Gotta re-read I guess.

I also need to remember that the author is using joke/pun names for character names and cities, having different translations that may or may not carry it through (or change it to an English equivalent) could make some details slip by. :notlikethis:

From the raw that I found, there's really no line about double own goal. He was just saying that his name is O Wungol.

そういえば前にあったオウンゴール…だっけ?
That reminds me, there was that guy... Was it Own Goal?

他人の空似だろうがよく似ていたな・・・
He really looks similar (to Aoki)

And then in the background, the bandit was like:
オ・ウンゴールだ!!
It's O Wungol!! (not Own Goal!!!)

Waaaah, lol, i hardly remember anything from Demon Lord Retry! It's been too long.
When I learn soccer(yes, we had to learn a sport) I never cam across own goal, it was always termed as self-goal. So thanks for clarifying.

Thanks a lot. I'll make the changes soon.

This is why reading the comments is better.

No. Don't be a criminal. Do your part for humanity and get with a big-breasted onee-san. Abe-san would want it that way.
Counter argument, it's not a crime if nobody knows about it :finnawoke:
Just like how a tree doesn't make a noise when it falls and nobody is around to hear it, or how a cell is just a room

That's a criminal's mentality. Waiting to get found out is not an excuse for committing the deed.
I honestly can't tell if you're trolling or if you're really taking internet shit seriously
