I agree because an own goal is supposed to have a negative effect to oneself and the context doesn’t seem to imply this.
I haven’t check the raws, but if the author/artist used this term this way, they may have misunderstood the meaning of the phrase. If so, it would be quite confusing in any language.

You can see the representatives around the saintess there. The former, I'm not so sure, but wasn't that guy part of the actual military? Wouldn't really call a formal military person a militant.
