Why would shinichi's dad have a secret with akai shuichi and hide it from shinichi? So far, akai tried to hide things (like when he was talking about Rum to jodie and camel but didn't tell Conan) which he did probably so shinichi wouldn't get oo involved...which is already weird since shinichi is beyond involved...But Yuusaku has never hidden anything from shinichi. Which brings me to the point "why are they hiding something from shinichi"?

Could be that Akai asked him to keep it a secret. Or it could be that he wants to hold off on sharing whatever they're up to until it's the right time, since Shinichi's already got a lot on his plate right now and is restricted in how freely he can act. It might be that there's nothing Shinichi himself can do in this particular matter, or that he doesn't want to risk Shinichi jumping the gun (which he HAS been known to do at times, and almost got caught by the BO more than once as a result). Remember that the first interaction we saw between Shinichi and Yuusaku was Yuusaku trying to convince Shinichi to leave Japan and go into hiding. He knows Shinichi is talented but he also knows he's young and rash, and tries to bite off more than he chew.

Regarding Yuusaku & Akai: Late night tea party must be some secret code regarding a reunion with Zero (Amuro), his spin-off is named Zero's Tea Time.

Regarding this case: I can figure out reasons for the forger and shoplifter to be there at that specific shrine but not regarding the hit and run guy. This will be interesting plus how long can Heiji keep up this "disguise"

@Akera93 try to think about it this way. If Conan asks Yusaku about what he meant by 'tea party' then I am sure Yusaku would tell him. But Conan doesn't ask and instead thinks on his own. Whereas Yusaku has no reason to take the initiative and talk to Conan about it because he was not involved in the tea party.
If you want to think about it in out-of-universe terms, then Gosho doesn't want Conan on the plan as of now, and hence won't let Yusaku tell him.
