The motivations for Klara to become a soldier are far weaker than for Sarka, especially given that she simply desires to become a mother and give Sarka and Johann many grandchildren. Sarka became a soldier initially out of desperation and remained a soldier out of a sense of duty to her friends and comrades. Klara has had no such experience.
