this really reminds me of this comic called underneath the trees where nobody sees! these are both super good!!
I think you'd find even more similarities with "Beautiful Darkness"
It's really good but I think this manga is even better, so far
Although I suppose it's unfair to compare a self-contained graphic novel with a serialized manga.

While I wouldn't put this in the 'masterpiece absolute must read' category, I will say that it is a must read for anyone who likes this type of setting, artstyle, and themes.

I think the 8th chapter solidified it for me - this is one of my favorites !

o wait, Beautiful Darkness is what I meant :slap: underneath the trees is the murder bear, bd is the cute lil dead body ppl lmaos

Is this based on some established setting or folklore? I'm not familiar with mushroom fairy, Tamagotake, Tsukiyotake, or Sea of Trees. It seems like two of those are mushroom species.
Apparently the name "Sea of Trees" is associated with Aokigahara, a forest at the base of Mt Fuji. This place is the notorious "Suicide Forest".
