However, I'd like to remind all of you that the author could be refering to the serial smoocher and not maria-sensei. Mei rejected her because she doesn't want a partner who goes around cheating all the time (just making out counts as cheating imo) via makeout sessions with any woman that has a pulse.

So author might only be referring to smooch-o and sniff-o which leaves maria in the running still

I agree with others, I do not think that anyone is out of the game. Just make 3 years skip and have them all together in a single large house. Childhood friend included.

I kinda have to imagine that all five of our Sense Loves are going to "lose" and we'll end back up at the high school friend again as the endgame.
Even so, this series has been so delightfully silly and fluffy that I'm very much enjoying the ride to the end point - as our MC slowly discovers herself and learns who she is and what she wants from life.

(or they all come back at the end and our MC builds some sort of polycule, and hopefully by then the others come to like one another enough to make it work, as well.)
