@MindFlayJax not all romance is some sort of love triangle (or polygon) that the mangas make it out to be. you can most certainly have romance without drama

I noted 2 other possibilities than love triangles, but even the whole seiso 1 on 1 romance OR the ones that are about an already established relationship, need some sort of drama or crisis to either push the plot forward or diversify the plot. Unless we are talking about some sort of yon-koma about nothing or an autobiography comics.
