a shame it took an insufferable man-hating lesbian stalker of a character walking all over everyone like she owns the place for someone to speak up and stop his self-sacrificing for the sake of others, literally, count how many times he's done it until now, either literally (first time when he saved Hanamitsuji) or figuratively/socially, like with Hoshigasaki. He had reason for both, sure, but at the end of the day it's literally self destructive and something he needs to stop defaulting to every time. Wish that the girls would stop beating around the bush and give it straight to him

Yep, I always that.
Nobody that is really a loner complain alone about being rejected and a loner.
What he did was just creating a mental narrative to justify his social isolation and reduce the pain. This generally increase the social distance he have with other and feed again his narrative. It's a spiral that resulted in him being lonely for all his high school.
But as we all could see he HAD intention of having friends in high school and he was melancholic about failing in the end.
So all the "nooo leave him alone, he don't want to make friends" it's BS

And even Sora dislikes her. Well, there is some Japanese culture context of being polite even if the person is being abusive. It's even worse when she thinks she did bring this to herself (using future knowledge to make friends)

People in real life have genuinely done the social fall to help others so so that doesn't bother me at all. He isn't Hachiman but he isn't supposed to be. In all honesty I think this guy wants to be alone more than Hachiman did. Simple fact of never letting others hurt you by not getting close

I think his denial level it's just stronger. But the concept is somewhat different.
The hachiman concept had the other two helping him to get better from his scars but the other girls had their own scars.
As the name of the manga states "Please Leave Me Alone: For Some Reason, She Wants to Change a Lone Wolf's Helpless High School Life" the main concept here is that Sora is trying to help him stop being an outcast.
Even if some people here keep saying that he don't care about being an outcast, this is clearly a lie

Hachiman's social suicide was never supposed to be cool. It was meant to invoke drama from the people who actually cared about him which I argue is the exactly the same way it's being used now.
