In fairness to Ms. Hard Case over there, the situation is (very) contrived, but I don't think it was pre-meditated. I'm reading genuine distress in her expressions. Still, I've gotta say that it's difficult for me to be invested at this point. The story feels pretty weak to me. Maybe that will change if I let it sit for a while and then binge, but eh.

Did Tsuzumi got a glowup or something? Her appearance was way too different compared to last chapter, and no one in the comment section mentioned it at all. Sharp straight hair vs fluffy voluminous hair. Or was I just imagining things?

"Very contrived" is the right expression. There's no reason our lady officer couldn't have just yoinked the kid out of harm's way instead of being melodramatic and trying to block it with her body.
