This reminds me of The Promised Neverland, where it starts something with the potential to be really interesting and as the curtain rises you realize that no, there was never really anything there and the author is just throwing shit at the panels hoping you go away for a week or two.

This does remind me of the promised neverland, because we're still in the early days. The story is relatively good so far and the suspense of what will happen next is strong.

I agree with this sentiment cause it's so clear that the revolutionaries are gonna be evil. The thing is, this is so obvious, and that's why the story is going downhill it will never portray anyone as being good. Sure, you can have gray areas, but at some point, you gotta have some sort of character you can root for that actually wants to change this messed-up world. I feel like we will just follow this sheep girl accidentally fix the world at the end, meanwhile, a majority of the story will be switching up who is in power, animal-human, or just human for the sake of shock.

I feel like the story is moving too quickly to be true, but I hope I'm wrong

I was thinking the problem was that none of the characters ever get fully disillusioned?

Like on the one hand you've got a bunch of unwitting characters who assume every pleasant looking situation they come across is a utopia even if they just got done escaping another pleasant looking situation that turned out to be a horrifying dystopia.

And on the other hand you've got a bunch of aggressive characters who look down at layers and layers of humans and human animals who think they're at the top of the food chain but are actually food for someone else and they pretty much all go, "Those fools, clearly I'm the one at the top of the food chain, no one's planning to eat me."

Feel like there should be at least some characters who are suspicious of new societies/that maybe just many someone is in fact gonna eat them.
