You totally can. Just because medieval blacksmiths could not melt iron, doesn't mean it's not a valid way to make weapons out of fantasy metals.its not a great sword at all

Of course, as a dwarven blacksmith, I'm sure she knew of many ways to improve on that. Like tempering, and sharpening and adding various additions. Just not the right way to do it with a sword made of jewelry-grade metal that is not normally used for weapons.
