Wait why does this silly slice of life manga suddenly have an interesting story...?

Holy shit, is that a breastplate patterned like a sweater? Good lord, the brain on this artist.

Amon's older brother Noma is a menace. Rei's jacked too. I wonder if there were too many shitty nobles around for Rei to bother taking the job again by the time Lienna took the office.

Amon used the keyblade to split himself into two: Amon Seeker of Slow Life, and Mansex

Well, I'm confused, I assume, as of right now, the Amon in the dragon is the real one and this one is a copy? They both clearly know of this previous knight commander, so I feel it is safe to assume at least one is a dupe?

I am liking where they are taking the story, I really thought this would be a simple slice of life, but it is turning into something far more action based then I though. Happy to see more of the elf.

With all this sudden battle plot I wonder if it's in danger of the axe lol

I want more laid back dragon camping :aquadrink:

Perhaps Amon and his brother are half elf? In chapter 4, page 28 the elf lady gives the little knight some goggles for the rain that were her little brother’s, and are very similar to the ones Amon wears.

I'm guessing that look-a-like knight is actually a prince, and he says he 'needs' to be let go because it would cause war (or political strife at a minimum) if he were killed or captured... personally I don't care and think his head should go flying all the same, the stupid invader.

I am really digging the ratcheting up in tension every time it's chapters with the outside world, but I have to say that I feel that it makes the chapters focusing solely on the fmc and mmc kinda bland, and as if it's building suspense for the chapters we'll actually want - which is something I'm not a fan of, because that 'suspense' building chapters come across more as filler.

I'll also say, that the fmc really needs to get her act together; in the earlier chapter comments, I had said that she was supposed to be some powerhouse badass, but had shown nothing of the sort (and still really hasn't) - but I got push back because others felt she was nothing more than a desk jockey with a cool title.
These chapters prove it, she IS supposed to be powerful, and perhaps THE MOST powerful, and yet we've been getting a mostly incompetent crybaby who has lost, or barely eeked out a win, in every fight so far. :pout:

I wonder if this means amon was an enemy soldier too or if his disagreements with being one made him a hermit in the woods. Guess it depends if you trust his backstory he told or not.

From the very first panel that the first commander (and the 5th, 7th, and 13th) is shown, you can see she's a woman (with a very noticeable chest too if everything else about how she's drawn didn't clue you in), plus our protagonist has literally met her when she was young, what's with the constant 'they'?

Dude, it's a 700+ year old usage of a singular pronoun. Genderless. It'd be weird to mind it.

(Accidental?) Brilliant Real English is why I'm answering: It can work formally like they/thou/thee/thine/their etc, honestly it's great if it's on purpose. Probably isn't, though scanlator could be awesome like that. Modern English is at a disadvantage losing the formal register of speech, and Knight-sama is definitely describing her idol with heavy respect. Old usage changes but if you did still use a formal English register, they is showing honor. Otherwise it never stopped being commonplace, ~1900 even a commoner term certain privileged academics wanted to stamp out but it stayed reflexively used in all classes. Really a cool word.

I don't care about any "nuh uh not my English" arguments if you were complaining disingenuously. Language doesn't work like that, it doesn't snapshot into civ-wide rulebooks, no one cares. No one who matters. Authoritarian attempts do try sometimes, French Academy and mainland Chinese most notably. It's like, 1984-brained to fight language that innocuously serves its purpose.
