You're welcome! I'm glad there are people out there who like the series. It's a spin-off of a spin-off of a videogame franchise so it doesn't get much love... but the art and story have been really solid and I love how it has tied into both the games and the old series so well!Feeling a weird sense of quasi-nostalgia right now. The 2020 Dai anime converted me into a big fan of Zamza, so when the spoilers for chapter 9 showed his cameo (appropriately timed to right after his arc ended in the broadcast) I just had to import V-Jump to see what the deal was. Then next month I saw the stuff about Avan's family background and absolutely needed to do it again. Now I can read these chapters instead of just following along with google translated summaries from Japanese blogs.
Thanks as always for your hard work!
I sure hope those rumors about a new Dai anime project turn out to be true and that it's an adaptation of this story. I need to see Younger Zamza and Grandpa Avan in full color like burning.

From what I understand the final book was announced, so the series should be wrapping up by around chapter 30. It's a shame because they totally could have fleshed out a lot more. But if it is wrapping up it definitely could get a one or two cour anime (I feel like 13 episodes would be too rushed for a series that already feels rushed as a manga). I just hope Yuki Hayashi does the music again or that the reprise the 2020 anime's music. It was amazing.
The impression I got from this article (https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/ne...kuen-no-mao-manga-enters-final-battle/.196794) was that Volume 8 would be the last.Avan is probably one of my favorite fictional characters of all time and he's been eating my brain since I got into Dai in late 2020 so I've been devouring every scrap of Dai series and Avan content I can, haha. Double dip on physical and digital volumes of Avan, have some vjump magazines like I mentioned earlier, I even collect the godawful Xross Blade manga just because it's fascinatingly bad and comes with some cool cards.
I do feel like the Avan series does a better job at a lot of stuff than the OG Dai series does, for one it feels way more like an actual adventure despite the somewhat abbreviated pacing. Just by adding short scenes of the characters around a campfire or shopping in town, it adds some breathing room that the original series was sorely missing. Plus I'm a huge Roka fan, and his focus taking up the "Popp" role of the party is extra bittersweet considering what happens between here and the main series timeline.
Chapter 30 (will be compiled in vol 8) releases in this month's V-Jump, actually. From the trajectory the story seems to be taking based on what I'm seeing, I think there's probably gonna be one or two volumes left after vol 8.
I haven't seen any announcement about a final volume yet, just the vague "we're entering the climax now kiddos" proclamation which tends to not mean a whole lot in shonen battle series. Just look at how long the final arc of OG Dai was!
Yeah, that's what I saw too.The impression I got from this article (https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/ne...kuen-no-mao-manga-enters-final-battle/.196794) was that Volume 8 would be the last.
I really hope that we have a decent amount more... maybe some flashbacks or side stories or something!
