Honestly, i can see this being a test, and that these aliens are special food aliens used to test humanity, and the goal was to get a death worlder army. The humans that rise up and eat them, pass. the ones that accepted them with open arms? fail.

We don't yet know about their political status or how the situation of the government is yet in this world. If that were the case then other humans besides these two would have been mentioned. The situation we've seen so far isn't an us vs them race war because, as it seems, a vast majority of humans are okay with the aliens, and even the human workers that we see worry for the alien and even demean Nomamoto after she gets chewed out. If the mangaka was going with the colonialism approach then they would have mentioned either the Earth or Japan being invaded, instead all they mention is the increase in the alien population in Japan. If this is insufficient for you then I must ask the question of if you believe that the influx of either Indian or Chinese immigrants to Canada is Colonialism.

Did you miss the part with them talking about wether the aliens set them up or not because they have the technology to do that?

Did you speedread? Cause it looks like you missed the part where the guy talks about how the meteor was engineered by them to get humans to accept a peaceful invasion. Or how about the part where it's mentioned that aliens could do whatever they wanted because they saved the humans. You also seemed to miss the part where humans are being fed a near constant feed of propaganda in order to make sure humans will always remember that it was the aliens that saved them. You made a comparison to the immigration situation in Canada and the two could not be more different. it's mentioned that most of Japans bureaucracy was replaced with aliens and that they hold most of wealth. Now does that sound like immigrants in Canada to you?
