Ok, so he doesn't even want to steal the girl like I thought previously. Interesting.

Not sure I'd be considered one of the complainer or not, but agree with the guy above that this one is just running on with shock value.

Still wait for author to cook something good up while the shock train isn't out of gas...

Having said that, I kind of reminded of the time I read Gantz for the first time.
Very similar in terms of shock value and how clueless we were during the early chapter, but idk, that one feel like there's a more cohesive thread of wanting to know the secret behind the Gantz ball/system and getting away from the system. This one have a little of multiple threads here and there with none looking substantial; and the flipflopping with gag manga mentality really doesn't help :thonk:

It's a very odd manga, simultaneously bad and not bad. Shock train makes it intriguing enough to keep following, but I honestly can't see this going anywhere unless there's some substantial twist or meta storytelling revealed in the next chapters.

I do believe that Lily genuinely likes Seiran and wants to save him. A bit like how Seiran grew to almost like Lily, and seemed to exclude him from his revenge plans (even if it was to get at his brother). But this will serve as a reminder that humans and aliens are just too different. I take it that this is how idol girl joins the group - having an alien murder her bandmates will prove that Seiran's right about them.

I still don't really understand the direction this story is going in. Is it a racism allegory? Lily's actions in this chapter, after he was presented as a "reasonable alien", would make it seem not. It's memorable and unique enough that I want to keep reading despite it being a bit rudderless... but I do think that after this mini-arc we really need to have the MCs sit down with someone who has more insight into exactly what's going on with the aliens and give them a more concrete goal than "assassinate and eat approximately ten million aliens". We've been shown aliens that are dickheads... but so are some humans. They need to have actually done something bad (for instance, faked the whole apocalypse and used it to lord over the humans).
