Well I dind't see that one coming.
Keep in mind at the beginning of the chapter they show that the humans wouldn’t confront the aliens when they took their seat or when they starting disturbing the other passengers. I think that’s relevant. She could be extremely nice, he falls for her, confesses and she reveals she finds aliens to be revolting. Although thematically speaking I think that if kitami’s sister was in love with aliens it’d make kitami’s situation more interesting as he’s been murdering them left and right lol
Well, somehow looks like this is gonna be the development.
I don't think the sister is going to bully the alien brother; quite the opposite, she is going to be so kind that the little brother will fall in love with her.
Eventually, the little brother gets rejected and commits suicide or dies in an accident. Then Lily gets her own revenge.
My assumption is this:
We've seen everyone is so completely, overly polite to the aliens... on the outside.
Letting them get away with "unacceptable" behavior, being overly gracious to them. But then I think more people think like our principals do: secretly they hate aliens but feel forced to be thankful for them.
So I think what happens is Lally wants to have his anime middleschool experience and he gets it. He wants a cute seat mate girlfriend and he gets one.
Then he'll learn its all lies: no one really wants him around but they all feel forced to play along. Soyo doesn't actually love him but feels compelled to be the perfect girlfriend for him. The guilt over this, the fact that he realizes he is looked down on by his own species and can never trust humans to be honest with him, means he'll never really have friends and almost certainly drives him to kill himself.
So what Lilly is doing is trying to make humans hate Aliens so much they'll stop being fake-polite. that's what his was.
(also, lets try to not think too hard about how Lilly and Lally are the same age, and very clearly older than middleschoolers)
With each panel advancing towards him going to school, my heart sank.
This. Oh god this poor precious summer alien child about to encounter Japanese academic system... with expectations of enjoying it. Oh no. Oh please no.
...this is going to bog down and result in no alien-eating for the next five chapters or so, isn't it?
I miss our hungry hungry waifu.
The genocides will continue until peaceful coexistence improves.
