It look like the whole alien killing comes to an end. Which makes half of the characters pointless.

Or better question what could happen now that could lead to a new arc?

This is such a complex plot that at times it seems even the author doesn't know what's going on.

Yeah I'm surprised too. I have read many, MANY axed manga (used to think I was cursed as a teen because I swear every time I got into a manga it got axed), and this isn't setting off any of the usual alarm bells for me.

Digging into Kitami's sister's backstory doesn't mean he'll lose all motivation to kill or something. This feels more like a pivot moment where he gains a more complex understanding and motivation beyond simple revenge. I feel like everyone forgot about Kitami and Nomamoto bonding over about aliens taking over everything and pushing humans out of various roles, and mutual annoyance over how people worship them...

I see absolutely no reason this will end the alien killing.

I mentioned it in another comment, but the way humanity worships aliens has always been a BIG background plotline. It goes beyond gratitude for saving the world.

This arc really highlights just how abnormal it is, between Lally's bad painting and the conversation about him getting a same-day license despite being underage. Seriously, look at how they're treated in these last two chapters. On the train that one person immediately apologized for complaining when they realized they were aliens. Then when that kid approached them about their seat, the parents seemed actually afraid and nervous as they first said those weren't their seats, then insisted Lily and Lally keep their seats when Lily realized they were on the wrong train, and told their son to always love and be grateful to aliens.

Then this chapter has that hallway plastered with signs saying "LOVE & GRATITUDE" as Lally chases after Soyo. That reeks of symbolism for some sort of indoctrination going on. Heck, Nomamoto even thought in Chapter 1 "it's not like I'm supposed to feel this way" which I now think might be more literal...

Something is seriously up with the aliens. There's always been something off about the situation even before Lily stated he got away with that massacre because he's an alien. Kitami's family's murder may have motivated his hatred, but I think the bigger effect is just that it removed the fog and let him see just how bizarre the whole situation really is. I always felt there was some bigger conspiracy at play. His family's death was just the gateway for him into that deeper story.

Just... Reading the comment section on this series is always mind-boggling because everyone focuses solely on complaining or talking/joking about xenophobia and racism, and just ignore all the hints and signs that something is seriously wrong with how aliens are worshipped and can get away with anything. It almost feels like people aren't even reading the same series, or at least aren't paying attention...

Lally's inability to take a hint goes so far beyond the bounds of acceptable behavior in Japanese society he may as well have been regularly shitting his pants in public. The purpose of this chapter is to show how difficult it is to be around him and how much he disrupts social cohesion.

We're back to the first box, and... sigh ironically I can imagine this happens. The systemic flaw, the deep-rooted racism, the awkwardness of an expatriate. What a recipe to make a cultural clash and disaster...

Seems like this is leading to the fact Lally killed Kitami's family in the car accident because they gave him a fast pass to getting a license since he is an alien, also points towards him being Lally since he seems to know details only Lally himself would know.

I'm going to guess he is Lally and his big brother was also killed in the accident, he feels resentment towards both Humans and Aliens because of the preferential treatment he was given which then lead to the accident and killed two people he cared about (his brother & Soyo). I was going to say the person in the sack is his big brother but I think he cares about his brother too much to do that so instead maybe it was someone who helped him get his license.

Just in case for anyone confused, I'll try to explain this:

1) The systemic flaw that prioritizes a race (or in this case, alien), who seems more advanced that "They could do no wrong". In their respective planet, those duos seem... pretty much not so above average. But when they move to earth, and in this case, Japan, they are taken as automatically superior with special treatment. Like when his painting is considered bad and he knew it, the school still gave him an award. For being alien. And also how the alien is treated so highly that it can be considered favoritism, they can break the rules that the locals can't. Will it make the locals jealous? HELL YEAH THEY WILL!

2) I'll be honest. People can be racist towards foreigner, or in this case, alien. It's not always an open hostility, but if something bad done to you by locals and you report it to the police, you won't be prioritized, and you'll be condemned even further. In this chapter, she outright doesn't respond to him despite he's trying to be friendly. "Not befriending him" IS her answer. And they're planning to be outright hostile in the presumably next chapter. They can still hold it because alien's status is considered higher.

3) Expatriate should know the "code" to live even before they know they do something wrong. Not to mention the alien is pretty awkward to befriend with. Not all people want to be friendly with you, and trying to be chummy with them can make you alienated even more.

Reading this flashback chapter feels like it's less than alien wars and "politics", and going back to ol' back racism.

Lilly killed Kitami's family in the car crash, Lilly killed himself from the guilt. This guilt, is what made Lally realize the insane privilege that the aliens have, it caused his brother's death and now he eants to avenge it.

The body in the bag is Lilly. Lally wants to help Kitami.

I don't think Lilly or Lally is in the bag, I feel like they'd treat their brother better than that looking at the flash backs.

I think it'd be interesting if who he actually brought was a human that was somewhat responsible in Kitami's family's death, someone who was involved in the process of Lally getting his license so easily (which is what I'm assuming is what caused their deaths).

Have them be alive passed out in the sack and offer them up to Kitami, obviously Kitami hates aliens and his main motivation for this is supposed to be the death of his family so by putting someone in front of him that isn't an alien but was more at fault for his families death then the rando aliens he has been killing so far will give a great opportunity to show just how far Kitami is willing to go, because so far his nondescript killing of aliens more-so points to species-ism/hate rather than revenge (which seems to run in the family).

I think Kitami would refuse to kill them.

Edit: Just to add onto this and give it more thought, Lilly/Lally (whoever he turns out to be) is shown to have no problems in the nondescript killing humans (as per his massacre at the concert) maybe he is the human killing version of Kitami, I think this gives credence to there being a human in the bag, maybe his motivation for this is to try and persuade/recruit Kitami into killing humans as well.
