It's called a leading question. Kitami was already suspicious with hiding their disposal method, and Backbone has been tasked with finding out. Hence, she probes Kitami for possibilities.

But not the same species, I've been saying before that is weird how she is the only one who finds the flavor and smell actually delicious, she's not a normal human but the neighbors who are aliens too couldn't stand the smell either, it was horrible for both aliens and human.
Perhaps their bodies are like sponges or cotton candy, you guys think is weird she can eat them but the guy can also take them down with a single swing.
What doesn't match is the fact that the protagonist used to get hit by the boss quite a few times, they have some strength and mass.

...yes, the humans are not interstellar invaders settlers who potentially staged the catastrophe they saved the earth from.

Maybe your expectations would be more apropos if they weren't buttressed on a firm presupposition that the aliens were a direct allegory for migrants or immigrants or the rich or whatever.

Like if the alien was an actual philanthropist they would still kill him because he's an alien.

Nonamoto watched an alien burn to death, right in front of her, for several minutes without doing anything. Kitami beat an alien to death for hitting him once, and then fed his corpse to Nonamoto.

That all happened in the first chapter.

What do you mean, "they would still kill him because he's an alien"? The very premise is that they hate aliens and want to eat them off the earth.

The client (huntaways human competition) is the one who died, likely due to a minion of huntaway killling him. Since the client, as in the person who is paying for the assassination, is dead then they wont get paid so they were pulling out of the job since no money no killing.

To be honest most humans would die if they get hit in the head with a hammer.
a single human smacking a group down with a few hammer blows to the head is a lot more believable then what the girl is doing. Thou I do agree they probably softer then a regular human.
