getting on my hands and knees and praying to god this manga isn't just an unbridled murder fantasy for racists and has the characters develop into something more whole. so much potential here, art is great lore is cool but based on the tone of the first chapter this could either be a great cultural commentary or a nauseatingly edgy shock fest

edit: dude this first chapter lowkey feels straight up evil

Even if it was, then what? Japan isn't a cuck like America
maybe don't use the word cuck here. Recreation and Amusement Association where a portion were forced. Japanese war brides, and even agencies that set up temporary marriages that even sold minors to westerners so they can get that exotic experience before going back home. the last example actually still happens in modern day in a less extreme form as host clubs and rent-a-bf/gf agencies.

90% of the people who care about such BS are Americans. Y'all "muh Racism" has little power elsewhere.
you're half right. the japanese are pretty indifferent to things that don't personally affect them and their largely homogenous society, but despite being pretty much indifferent, they aren't as completely unaware of the parallels as you think either. reading some JP comments, some have drawn the same parallels with some talking about either palestine or US soldiers and their bases in japan including the hostility towards that in okinawa (ironic considering the history between okinawa and japan)

Personal opinion
It's too early to tell, but there is just something about this first chapter that kinda rubbed me the wrong way.
Like, Kitami's reasoning for hating the aliens, I can understand, which leads me to sympathize with why he would believe the conspiratorial theories of the alien takeover. But to me, the Nomamto was just too eager to jump the gun and accept this guy's proposal to take part in the murder of these aliens, whether or not the theories were true.
Sure, Nomamoto's situation might be teetering on the edge of poverty and she does have some baseless hatred towards aliens, but would being an accomplice to murder realistically happen to anyone? Would anyone be fine with being an accomplice for murder just because they sorta hate a group of people, just because they are kinda poor and need an outlet for their troubles? It varies depending on who you ask, but for most people, I'd reckon the answer would be no. Call me whatever you'd like, but I think the reason why the first chapter rubbed me the wrong way was that Nomamoto seemed too eager to eat these aliens, for no logical answer other than "she hates them". Again it's too early to tell, considering we only have one chapter, but I do hope her reasoning for Nomamoto's hatred is more fleshed out, or at least taken to a degree that is more understandable for most people.

Thoughts on the manga
As for the manga itself, I have the feeling that Kitami's theory of the alien takeover would be more or less true. From this chapter alone, it's implied that these guys are quite volatile to changes in temperature. Nomamoto's boss is seemingly resistant to wanting to change the temperature of their workplace, opting instead to constantly cool themselves down with a special spray rather than using an AC. This would hint at the fact that the aliens that have taken the planet are quite weak, if the temperature is a huge factor for them. Additionally, just the design of the aliens would imply they are weak, they are just too fluffy looking for them to be imposing at all, which would mean that conventional warfare would straight up decimate them. A fact supported by Nomamoto claiming that BOTH their meat and bones are tender.

On a different note, this manga vaguely reminds me of the movie Home by Dreamworks, just y'know, made for teens.

Yeah you're right, cuck was a dumb word to use, but you get it.

Just ignoring the whole "baseless hatred" thing for a moment:

No, I think she does have a properly established motivation for killing the aliens. Remember, she doesn't see aliens as people in the first place, so she has absolutely no moral compunctions to "murdering" them. Also, having just been fired, she's screwed in terms of getting money, she doesn't exactly have a lot to lose. Oh, and finally, Kitami seems to basically be her only friend. They bonded over their shared feeling of being sane in an insane world, why wouldn't she value their budding friendship?

So he wanted the Japanese after the war to eat Americans? They did during the war with POWs at the University of Kyushu and on the field.

Just don't read the manga (Or manga at all) if you're not smart enough to separate fiction from reality.
Trying to link a story about extraterrestrials being discriminated against and eaten by humans, to real life politics is absolutely mental; especially when there are a million upon millions of Western media that does similar discriminatory stories of aliens and humans alike.
Dude. You’re saying drawing a parallel between aliens being discriminated against and hated and other races being discriminated against and hated is “mental”?

And those millions upon millions of discriminatory stories with aliens clearly show that the aliens are bad, they’re the antagonists!
They give reasonable evidence to cause suspicion and make you think, “hey, these alien dudes are kinda evil.”

However, we only get the protagonist saying, “hmm.. aliens kinda rub me the wrong way..” because they have a crappy boss. The other evidence we get are aliens being as bad as other people. You can replace aliens with humans with another skin color, and then it’s racism, but its fine when they are human in almost every aspect except appearance.

Speaking of the deuteragonist, his family got killed by aliens drunk driving, which is obviously really terrible! But then he hates the entire species for that. Make the alien look like a human with another skin color? It’s obviously racism when you hate all black or white people because a black or white person ended up killing your entire family.

And then the meteor? “Ohh.. the aliens staged it!” Why would they? Were the aliens looking for a new planet to inhabit? Obviously they could’ve just killed all humans if they had the technology to stage an entire meteor, so why would they keep up alive? They want peace! They want to work together with people!

Perhaps looking like a savior to the people would warrant easier peaceful negotiations, but they view humans as equals. They’re seen dating people, partaking in the same sports, eating their food and more! They’re not incapable of kindness; quite the opposite, really, based on how well they’ve integrated into society.

Speaking of appearance the manga is literally just “Racism: The Comic” with people that had their looks swapped to that of an alien? They’re doing normal things. They’ve been just as an asshole as regular people are on a daily basis. They’re literally the same as us, just as intelligent, just as capable of evil and good, but they don’t look human.

I sincerely hope that this turns out to be a comic where the protagonist realizes they were wrong. I hope its too early to tell, but all signs point to flat-out racism.
(Well, the comic is from Japan after all, so racism/xenophobia wouldn’t be surprising. There are tons upon tons of manga with racist undertones, but it’s the first comic I’ve seen so blatantly racist with a sizable amount defenders.)

Sorry for the long paragraph, and I mean to no way insult or hurt you in any form (no matter what you look like), but it’s astonishing how racist it is. Just because something aims to be a tad lighthearted doesn’t mean it can’t be racist.

She really caused 4th wall-breaking drama in the comments from just dropping the first chapter, what a queen
Some guys few posts before me were right tho, Nomamoto lacks stronger foundation. Also I got scammed thinking she's a mad scientist or something with that kinda drip in the cover, but turned out she's just a yapper teenager

This being a JP manga is lowkey funny as someone who came from a country colonized by JP. Regular people aren't inherently all-evil, but while they do co-exist and 'help' 'building' the the colonized country's facilities (since they'll be using it too anyway and it's also useful for gaining trust), there's distinct leverage in social standing. Heck there's even propaganda of JP calling themselves as Asia's savior.

If it was in Africa and a bunch of black people complaining about invasive aliens in spite of the tech given, the ones crying racism would be celebrating.

To each nation their own land. Globalism is the death of all races and cultures.

I don't get it. How do people define a fascist?
pretty simple actually. These days a fascist is someone you don't like. Their political ideology or their leaning on the political spectrum doesn't matter if you hate them then they are a fascist....

In all seriousness tho a fascist means someone who espouses militaristic, authoritarian, dictatorial, centralized economical and usually (but not always i suppose) racist of at the very least xenophobic attitudes and beliefs

Anyways i don't know how people think this manga is xenophobic, alt right or just downright racist...

It seems more like anti colonial to me....

EDIT:
by the way i forgot to mention but I'm not reading this for any social commentary about our world's socio economic political issues.
I see a hot chick with obvious mental issues written all over her face on the cover: I immediately click
