Mfers only paying attention to the literal message, thinking the author is on their side, are insane 1 dimensional smooth brains who break down infront of the clearest metaphors.
Read the authors other works to get some insight of their political alignment.
Queer advocates arent always progressive, but empathetic story tellers often are.
Tho, it's not surprising that facist ideology and red pilled bs is deep in the online anime/manga space, imo kind of a side effect of the LDP targeted subsidization program (I still like spyxfamily, but it is not hyperbolic to call it literal propaganda) mixed with alt-right targeting tactics, but whatever.
Obviously there are a lot of xenophobia connections, and making the protagonist into something like Albert Fish if he idolized the christ-church shooter is a... Choice. I have some faith in the author tho, seems like they got a vision, also the humor is actually fuckin good in this which is wild since manga often doesnt actually do anything funny in their comedies.
BUT if you "dont bring woke to my manga" crybabies want an alt reading to play with, I think while racism and xenophobia is the obvious connection to the aliens, in the story the aliens actually do own the means of production. The working conditions are actually awful, and the demonization of the ruling class has merit in the cannon.
So far it's a story about socialism. The protagist literally eats the rich ruling class. And mixing the two is interesting, economic progressivism through social conservatism is something I have not seen that often. Like, imagine rejecting late stage capitalism and funding mass social programs to own the libs. Damn, even that framing is kinda funny.
