I believe she's a bit broken. The queen and the demands placed on her by the royal family must have affected her sanity. She's basically living her life being the spare part for Medis. Medis is dealing with her situation much better, but she's the primary choice to be the next ruler, being a warrior. If Medis didn't want to be the next queen, her situation would also be stifling, but she actually does. Ursula, however, has been living her life for pretty much nothing so far. If Medis is successful as a queen candidate and gives birth to a daughter, preferably two, Ursula might get back her own life, finally.

Confused about this too. Does this mean he'd be younger than he is now if he had chosen her as his mother?

My theory is that his father is the common thread and that he could have been a potential partner for any of the five mother candidates, but perhaps at different times.
