Well ok that changes things slightly. Now I want her to live but it's definitely going to require something from the MC nudge nudge since it's a 30% chance of her coming back from this. If she doesn't require that elixir later then I will be surprised. Thanks for the translations we are getting closer.

She probably has a 100% recovery chance by using Akira's elixir.

Other than that, the eye singularity can teleport projectiles, so Akira would be better off sending a summoned monster to attack him directly. Maybe a punch or a bite can't be teleported? A poison gas attack might work as well, if he knows some monster capable of such.

Finally! This was my main annoyance with this manga: the lack of accountability Katia had for her actions and failure to properly apologize to Akira.
Of course they made her out to be a hypocrite while doing so but it was handled far better than any of her other actions so far. I can finally start to like her now. Well, if she doesn't die.

There's no way Akira doesn't just save her with an elixir he pulls out of his ass

Also that last panel on page 9 is fucked

The singularity does have a point that heroes are often relied and depended on, and more often than not ended up being used by those people they stood up for. However, what the singularity forgets is that Heroes become heroes because they want to be, they want their powers to be used for good. And they can always find someone who is grateful towards them becoming their heroes and saviours.

Right, but Akira hasn't reached the stage where he truly wants to be hero (unless he made that decision when he decided to come to the frontier, I genuinely can't remember). He's made decisions, sure, but the scenario has mostly forced him to make them.

Not saying the singularity has a chance in hell of recruiting Akira, but it could've at least been the beginning crack that forms a divide between him and Medis & co, barring other factors like Katia's... apology?

I didn't mean that Akira has reached that point, far from it. He still questions whether he should use that powers of his in the first place.

Katia's explanation, I wouldn't call it an apology just yet, would be taken in a good light by Akira since heavily listens to what the princess, his childhood friend, really thinks of him. Since, she was mostly forced as well to be in this situation as well, he'll be okay with working with her still.

I'm just saying that The Singularity should've done a more thorough job of making Akira join them, because even though they have a point they are still pretty evil. Not wanting to be a hero doesn't equate joining an evil group.

Yeah, it's not unexpected for him to take it well.

I suppose my only concern is how much is he willing to bear before he breaks?

I'm trying to put this discomfort I'm feeling with the story into words. Idk if it's the way the MC got roped into the Capital and then the frontier, or how the characters who know his strength seem to expect so much of him when it seems to me he hasn't fully committed yet.

Yes, he's strong and yes the heroes/heroes' bloodline traditionally put their lives on the line for their duty, but he's not cut from the same cloth yet it feels like he's suddenly expected to have the same level of devotion as a protector.

He's doing this for Medis but it doesn't give me the vibe that he's willing to do anything for her or the country.
