20 years ago, MC and Rinka were deeply in love with each. Rinka promised to him that she will wait for MC to come back before the party sent him to go against the Demon King.

In the coming few chapters, if nothing deviate from the novel, the MC would meet his former party members and he asked about Rinka whereabouts. They lied that Rinka went missing 18 years ago over a man. MC obviously was devastated.

But the truth is that 20 years ago, Rinka disappeared somewhere(?), came back 2 years later with a newborn baby(Haruka), passed the baby to their party members then she went into the dungeon to go after MC, disappearing for the rest of the story. The reason the party member lied to MC is so that MC does not go rush back into the dungeon to search for the girl.

Fast forward around 100 novel chapters, the latest news that we got about Rinka is that she is still alive but in slumber in the hand of True Demon King(?). No clue about the origin of the baby/Haruka though. Could be Rinka's daughter, could be someone else's.

I only scanned through so there could be mistakes.

I mean, when a rifle's bullets don't even scratch the target, you wouldn't say that the rifle doesn't work, because it's still working as intended (firing ammunition), you'd say it's ineffective. Here it said modern weapons stopped working. Unless that's an incorrect translation, I'd assume that means the weapons will no longer perform their function—not just against dungeon monsters, but in general.

No, not really. In japanese when referring to bullets basically doing no damage to an enemy (as is often the case in these types of manga/anime), they usually use the term Kikanai (効かない) which means it doesn't work/it's not working. It doesn't mean that guns stop firing, it just means that they aren't working as intended...and the intent of firing bullets or missiles at shit is to cause harm.
