Ugh... that sort of "no better than they are" trope has to die in a fire. It is a piss-poor excuse for wastefulness. It isn't a competition, and looting the bodies of the slain isn't a move in some morality chess game. If you've already killed them then making use of their loot is the least you can do.

The real reason they killed them was because Kabru was afraid that the revival team would get revenge on their corspes if they die later. All the speech about right and wrong may or may not be true to him, but it's a convenient sense of justice
