Good writing. It goes way back in the story. I suppose if I went back to reread the series, I'd spot the details in the relevant scenes. I'm usually not a fan of scenes like this where enemies keep talking, but for whatever reason it works here. Maybe because it was actually interesting.

This has been a double shock and double trauma for Lefiya, that's for sure. I doubt just fluffing Lili's real-fake animal ears made her feel much better.

It's all about the execution of the mystery. Additionally, unlike the average hero versus villain showdown, there isn't much more either god can do; they are restricted from using their powers freely in the lower realm and are naturally manipulative masterminds. Talking is their forte, as without arcarum they are physically comparable to a very athletic normal human.

In Lefiya's case, she likely does not want her suspicions confirmed and to face her friend in combat. The longer she drags it out, the more opportunities there are for her theory to be disproven or denied. Unfortunately, the gods are not kind to Lefiya.

Man, what a reveal. I feel bad for Demeter, having her children taken hostage by an unhinged god and Penia being dragged and drugged just because it was convinient.

All in all, this makes me love Sword Oratoria more than the main story. It's more focused, full of action and great pacing too.

Huzzah for the TLs and Scans.

and that folks is why you should not look up greek mythology when reading this story. i was indeed spoiled on this reveal because of it. i had no idea the beggar god was the one who got sent back but i definitely suspected someone was made the sacrifice in order to pull off this switcheroo. seriously folks i really recommend not looking up greek mythos if you don't want to be spoiled.

and don't forget it actually gets translated regularly unlike the main story. hell when was the last time the main story got a chapter updated because i legit can't remember. i don't feel like it was any time this year but if it was, i bet it's been at least over 5 months.

edit: i just checked and it's been 3 bloody fucking years now! holy mother of fucks why is no one translating it!?

I mean it's a really big deal not to mention that the beam happens when someone ELSE stabs the god. That kinda flips the whole dionysus thing unfairly.

And when dionysus is back on the menu, Filvis jumps up several places in viability. Although the Loki familia's deduction of Filvis was actually quite persuasive, I still think this mystery was unfair.

Quoting myself here from chapter 100 ...
Diosyn... Dios... that pretty boy god is SERIOUSLY SUPER SUS right now. I'll just leave that here and come back to it when he turns out to be the actual bad guy. It could also be an intentional misdirection by the author ... time will tell.
But I guess time DID TELL.

However, what I want to know is (maybe I just can't remember) how did his followers all lose power when he 'DIED'. You know, they don't have the blessing anymore and can't fight. Did he just take the power back from them? Is that a thing? That's the only part that has me a little confuzzled. Maybe someone smarter than I am (trust me that's NOT a high bar here) can enlighten me on how THAT worked.

tfw the elf yuri was tragic

I wonder how much autonomy Filvis's clone has. Also RIP Penia. Dionysius really did fake his own death with a substitute god. I assume deities can revoke the blessings of their followers at any time and just usually don't for obvious reasons.

Filvis clone, more like her other half since she possess her other personality.

About that blessings will be explained later on.

I was not expecting Filvis to be alive thanks to some Madrox type of cloning skill.
Also Dionysus being alive that means he took the blessings of his whole family save Filvis and left them to die just to complete the charade. Brutal. :korone:

I said it before and i say it again, this spin off puts the original series to shame. (y)
