That "Van, dude... stop" is such a real reaction. I love how well they capture the feeling of having known each other for a long time and the cringe that comes with recalling the past. Props to the translators too, since any faults in the translation probably would've ruined that feeling.

Other possibility is that the Magic Sword is the Demon Lord, hitching a ride with a "hero" it empowered.

That actually could make sense. As he kills all of the vessels they are actually being sacrificed as required for the return.

I wonder how many non-RPG players know that electrum is an alloy of gold and silver. Back when I played D&D (2e) it existed and you sometimes found electrum coins as loot but nobody transacted in them.
