Devil's advocate but maybe it's being narrated from the future? Or maybe he just thinks of her as a friend but couldn't quite see her as a lover. He does mention he doesn't want to have sex without love and at the time he's currently in love with the vampire. Or it could just be a mistranslation?

Nope, Shirou's pining for Chris, but still hasn't clarified if he rates the vampire or Chris above the other. Here's hoping that his love for the vampire is more of a big brother towards his sis... otherwise, falling for the pettan and making her the main heroine when there's characters with more oomph as characters (like Cecily or Gram) is just another notch on how or why this author will further F his current relationship/lineup buildup with the current 3 if we follow exactly what went down in his novel.
