Ch 2-5 is basically her slowly gaining confidence that she's not useless + form party with Kaid.
Also turns out her dad was a famous doctor, so her 'common knowledge' was actually something quite amazing. (same with her search range)


Then ch 6 the two returned to capital

I'm pretty sure Kaid will proceed to kick his ass soon enough when he notice our girl didn't meet back up, but the next chapter won't be out until late August...

So... his entire party is full of addicts? That's why they targeted her. Her dad was one who sold mana and health pills to them. Since he had a limit, that got the "scum hero" party angry.

Hero maximize his Charm skill, gets his daughter to sell/give the drugs for free. When he no longer had a use to them, they left her. By hampering their natural regen, they are dependent on a healer for just a small scratch now.

Kaid better stand up when he see his face again. No one should be used like that, it starts wars like no other.

@jimmyclear : they are NOW or at least the full party should be. The party has been abusing her potions for 2 years.

They targeted her because they her a rumor about her potions, and have spent the last 2 years using them for everything.
from the non-pay walled chapters so beware (I read it as MTL so grain of salt as well) :

They want the replacement healer to remove their fatigue half way through climbing the mountain, and complain she only (and reluctantly) removes half, because it is a waste of mana and she needs to conserve for emergencies. the "Hero" (maybe even the rest also wanted her to cure their fatigue before going to bed and when he wakes up complains (at least internally) that how can he get fully refreshed from a full day of walking with just 1 night's sleep. that is dependency if I ever saw it

@sjmcc13 it specifically says right in the first chapter they rushed her through it and she could only do the written part of the evaluation because the "hero's" party wanted/needed to leave. Evaluations in these stories aren't just for rank at the start though some do decide on starting rank based on a person's ability. It also gets done to determine a person's abilities and how good they currently are or are the potential in being. Like a person has a affinity to be a high class job instead of just a basic job.

She's a sweetheart, the hero party is going to retroactively look more and more shitty as their exploitation gets exposed, and Kaido...I'm getting Isekai MC vibes from him, and that's a weird feeling to get from the secondary main character.

Guy must really be in bad shape not to care about the giant syringe she's holding with a needle as big as a knife! 😝 Granted she's an E rank but that shouldn't be a reason to minimize payment so much, payment should be based on quality and quantity so she can earn a living while raising her rank. In any case, I bet that guy is probably a noble if not a prince, and likely an A rank prodigy considering all his varied skills. Will probably be ten to twenty chapters before he has to tell her more about himself though.
