If there's one complaint I have it's that they aren't getting into the details of how this guy runsRuins companies. We see him being a jerk, being shortsighted, mismanaging staff... but not his overall strategy. I'm not sure if he thinks the company will actually run well under his austerity, or if he knows it's going to fail after he strips it for parts. Makes him seem like a greedy idiot instead of a competent vulture.
He said what his strategy is several times this chapter: use up, fire, and replace. He sees employees as consumables that can be forced to work overtime and abused to their limits, and once they're exhausted, he just blames them for everything, fires them, and replaces them with fresh meat to repeat the process. In this way, he has maximized the profits of every company he's restructured so far because all his previous companies like most companies IRL have kept things modular so that no one employee has the leverage to make or break their work and everyone is replaceable.
The only reason this strategy is falling apart while he's still here and not long after he's left is because Satou single handedly did the work of a whole team of people via automation, and he mistakenly thought she was already used up so she could be replaced and her asking for a month to make the manual was a desperate attempt to get a month's salary, but without that manual, she still has the keys to the kingdom. The automation she made really for her own personal use to make her job more manageable was treated like a finished product you'd find in the app store, but it's actually more like an Excel spreadsheet with all the macros and formulas needed to make a 40 man hours per day job into a regular 9-5. If he had kept her on for a month to make the manual, anybody could've used the program to do her job, and in most companies, making manuals like that is a normal practice that's baked into everything so this kind of problem never happens, but she made the program for her own personal use without any oversight or support. He's just never had to think about it until now.
The only difference between a greedy idiot and a competent vulture is that the vulture is lucky enough to not stumble head first into any active landmines like this one and when they do set anything off or see the corpse start to collapse around them, they hightail it outta there before they suffer any real damage.
