The only good thing I will say about this chapter is that the childhood friend actually doesn't ditch the MC

Now time to list off the things I personally don't like which some could be used as actual criticism:
  • (pet peeve) MC's sword hilt width is literally as wide as my bed frames leg, which is terrible for a sword. If hilts are wide it makes it harder to hold which is why sword handles are pretty slime, because they're easier to hold and get a strong grip
  • (pet peeve) In terms of practicality, the hook/tooth at the back bottom of the sword isn't that good since kinda ruin the point of the rain-guard/chappe which is suppose to prevent water or air from contacting the sword which will damage it if exposed to them for too long. In terms of looks, I actually quite like it since its a simple design and isn't over-designed to the point its troublesome to actually use it in a fight
  • (criticism) After the wyvern roars and hides the tension quickly dies since the manga shows that they are safely hidden and only became aggressive again after seeing the lightning dome, which if it had been a rock dome it probably wouldn't have even bothered, let alone notice them. If they wanted to show any sense of danger they could've had the wyvern going on a rampage destroying stuff or actively looking for them instead of have it aggressively yawn and casually fly around until something strange appeared
  • (criticism) That 4-eyes is so stupid he may as well be the person who is actually ret*rded since he was as mad as a Twitter user malding after they got their feelings hurt form something inoffensive because he was the one who asked for a plan to escape and MC told him one. But noooo he just had to get offended like a Twitter user just because MC's plan somehow didn't crater to his feelings even though he asked for it and it was as simple as it sounded because the dragon didn't even notice them
  • (criticism) That nun wannabe is stupid for siding with the 4-eyes who was willing to kill someone as soon as they found as excuse to and can't even think properly like an actual person. And to even side with someone like that instead of the guy who came up with a plan because someone told him to is just flat out stupid like the 4-eyes
  • (criticism) Oh wow MC gains the power of everything, not surprised and even wiling to go along with it since its part of the title. MC is apparently able to one-shot a "high-class" monster with a lvl.1 element attack... huh? Wait, there's element levels? Huh? MC gets a UI? Huh? Wait, there's actual levels? Huh? For this to suddenly pop out of nowhere is so sloppy and hell I bet the UI is a protagonist privilege ability and nobody else will have that power. And if it actually is a protagonist privilege then that's just bad writing since it would've made more since to either showed other peoples element levels or flat out don't have them and replace the UI with a magical voice in the head like they did with the end of the chapter
  • (criticism) The power scaling is absolute trash. A mere level 5, a SING DIGIT LEVEL, is able to ONE-SHOT a monster, a HIGH-CLASS monster, with a mere LEVEL-1 ELEMENT attack. And there is literally no excuse for MC to be able to one shot that monster with the weakest of the weakest magic and it being the second time he's ever used magic, also the first time ever using that element too.

This last one is very much on point. If that's all it takes to take down such a "dangerous" monster, the full team should have had no trouble.

Edit: also of note is how the MC is suddenly super-confident that he can take down the wyvern after getting all magic elements at level 1. He didn't get a boost in level, he doesn't get high-level magic. He's just got a bunch of level 1 spells and suddenly he can not only take down the wyvern, but he also knows he can. Despite being in a worst situation than at the beginning when they had 3 magic users and a regular fighter.
It's not even a case of "now I've got the one element the wyvern is weak against" because he takes it down with lightning... which the black-robed sorceress also uses.

Why do we get all these mangas, all identical to one another? I mean, can we PLEASE, for once, have a:
"I was kicked from the party because I'm actually really weak, so I'm going to train until I become stronger. And it does not take ONE chapter"
You know, can we get a manga about actual growth? Why does the MC HAS to be OP from the start?

  • Abandon party member in a dungeon, check. (At least here, it's not "just because party is evil".)
  • MC does adventuring despite being objectively less capable than most, check. (Had no magic... though he looks decent with a sword.)
  • Childhood friend abandons MC... funny enough, opposite check. (Childhood friend is actually a friend for once. Nice.)
  • MC was actually a late bloomer and is actually OP, check.
Nothing too surprising so far... but seems like a decent start.
At least, the former party was not just evil for the sake of being evil.
I love it when villains have nuance but can still be called the bad guys.

Instant betrayal but the CF also instantly destroys expectations and stays to save him instead of also betraying/dying to serve as cheap motivation? Alright let’s see how this goes.

Wow, the childhood friend doesnt betray

Asides that

I wish authors would drop the leveling element in a pure fantasy setting 💀 Nobody would bother remembering it. Even more so with RANDOM pets or familiars because future merch if it takes off

One another side, it's not burning garbage yet so it might be a fun read for a while

Good thing it wasn't 30 seconds to get ready instead of 10 huh?

The childhood friend DOESN'T betray the MC and stick by him to defend him in his betrayal? That's a first. MC, put a ring on her asap.
I know it's crazy!!! He better put a ring on her quick so use to childhood always turning on the MC its so refreshing to see them stick up for the MC for once lol

Manga is already to a dumbass start, is nobody talking about how he went up 15 lvls just from defeating that one wyvern??

Not even double XP for a new player would give you THAT much XP

Author clearly has never played an RPG

Most manga authors never seem to.
The rate of gaining experience, the drop rates, super rare items always being available...

In this case, we're in an impossible situation:
  • Either the monster was so much more powerful than the party that gaining 15 levels at once is justified... but not taking it down with such a level difference and a single beginner spell. (He has all elements, but he only used one.)
  • Or the monster could be taken down as the level difference wasn't so great and gaining 15 levels at once is not justified.

The answer is obviously:
* The author is inconsistent and wanted an easy but impressive win for a newly awakened MC. The reward shows how impressive it was... but the fight itself was the very opposite of impressive. A totally undeserved one-shot kill.

Excellent analysis 👍

I don't really like the sudden awakening is somehow he can use all elementals power. That is kind of lazy when it's done in chapter one or two. Imo it's better if the MC and his party complements each other rather than one MC that's super OP.
