This is one of my pet peeves when it comes to isekai and fantasy works that feature adventurer guilds and receptionists. Like why the fuck would you hand out the payments in full view of everyone in the room? Does the concept of privacy not exist in other world? If the setting is a medieval age where things like theft and banditry are the norm, you would think that they would rather have a private room to deal with these kinds of transaction.

Was there a translation issue with the amounts? Last chapter the reward for the mandragora quest was 100k, and this chapter the receptionist freaks out about how well-preserved they were and then gives them a whopping... 100k. Seems like it was just the normal quest reward?

For now, I agree with Tamult. First, it doesn't make sense that it'll just be him and the childhood friend forever. Two, the cover shows the woman he just saved in this chapter who immediately got flirtatious as well as the other female party member who abandoned him with Zekt. Description says he'll run into or with the strongest party with girls. You really think that's going to just be a group of females who aren't going to be trying anything with him?

For anyone wanting this not to be a harem, I have some suspicions you're wishes are going to be dashed. Not sure how 'harem' it'll be (I've not seen the novel), but considering the synopsis literally describes him having multiple girls in his party and the bubble of the novel's cover shows at least one other girl?
Yeah, don't count on it remaining as is.

He can have a bunch of female companions but still be in a committed relationship with childhood friend. Similar to Ikki Kurogane in Chivalry of a Failed Knight.

Not impossible, but rare, and usually defeats the purpose of it being a harem as it becomes frustrating to have multiple girls flirting with MC and him dodging their advances.
