A lot of people have mentioned before that Kuzushiro has another manga and it is about Shogi too, but it seems it doesn't end at that, Touko is actually a character from that manga, and is really important, you can see her appearing since chapter 3

That kid was 14 after 8 years of teaching meaning he was 6 when they first met.

The woman wanted to enter professional shogi but missed to many opportunities so she had to have been at least mid-teens or something when she started teaching him meaning shes probably in her 20's.

That's just straight up grooming and pedophilia
